Description

$10K Price Improvement (March 2024)

The  Jeanneau 349 was introduced in 2014 and Lokura was the first model in the USA. She is hull #4.  After showing at the 2014 fall and winter boat shows, Lokura was purchased and kept in Miami as a family cruiser and racer.  Upgraded sails and rigging allowed her to provide plenty of enjoyment to her original Miami owner.  She was then listed and sold in 2021 to a new dedicated and passionate family based out of New Orleans. Over the past two years she has done beautifully to serve as a delightful family cruiser, as well as, an accomplished racer. She is no stranger to Gulf Coast victories including two Sawgrass Offshore Series class 1st place trophies and a 1st in fleet in the New Orleans to Mandeville Race.

Lokura is a 2 cabin/1 head layout with a larger walk-in stand alone shower than models much larger.  And with a large "garage" storage vs a third cabin with access from the cockpit and the shower area, there is room for keeping things close and dry.

The current owner has taken great care of the vessel with diligent maintenance and attention to detail. Two of MANY recent upgrades includes all new (spring 2023) high quality seacocks to ensure confidence in her waterproof integrity and a new (summer 2023) B&G Zeus3S chart plotter.

Lokura has upgraded the sails and rigging for performance and has the trophies to show for it! Her brand new North Sails asymmetrical large running spinnaker is a sight to see and really allows for downwind performance.

Fun Fact... Lokura was sailed and reviewed by famous and accomplished sailor/author John Kretschmer. See the links in the External Links tab below for more information and videos.

She's absolutely "turn-key" and ready to go for comfortable coastal cruising adventures, sophisticated racing, and distant shores! Listings this flawless are few and far between...

Overview

Accommodations

The Jeanneau 349 was designed to introduce a smaller cruiser to the world market while maintaining the Jeanneau upscale features.

The interior is Alpi teak with white vinyl cushions and black Starboard accents.

The large salon, featuring the center table dinette, provides room for lounging and dining for 6 people. The forward V-berth is accessed by double doors from the salon to add room and ease of entry.  The aft berth is large with multiple sources of light and ventilation.

The galley is to starboard and the nav station to port of the companionway and the huge head/shower is to port as well.

The interior temperature is maintained with air conditioning with newly added duct work to suffice all areas of the vessel.

Galley

The L-shaped galley is smartly designed and very functional. The galley includes a double stainless steel sink, 2 burner propane stove/oven, a deep fridge/freezer and built in microwave.  The features are accented with black Starboard and black Formica to give a very luxurious and modern feel.

Jeanneau made sure to include plenty of storage through deep cabinets, ample shelving and large lockers throughout the galley.

Engines

The engine is a reliable Yanmar 3YM20 21HP diesel with a straight shaft drive to a folding 3 blade prop. Showing only 563 hours in 9 years, indicates that Lokura has been sailed a lot!

Access for maintenance and to check the new (May 2023) dripless shaft seal is easy via the companionway stairs and with access in all three sides from the aft cabin and shower.

Engine maintenance has been one of the top priorities for the current meticulous owner and will happily share diligent notes in the captains log.

Electrical

Lokura has power from the dock by one 30 Amp "SmartPlug" shore power cord to the AC breakers for the A/C, battery charger and the water heater.

Away from the dock, the batteries are maintained by the 125Amp alternator on the engine.

The air conditioner and water heater are conveniently able to operate at the same time.

The electrical configuration in the "garage" is easily accessible, beautifully laid out, and simply configured. This cannot be overvalued or mentioned enough.

Batteries...

1x Starting Battery (West Marine 2021)

2x House Battery (Lead Acid)

Head/Plumbing

The extremally large head and walk-in shower on the Jeanneau 349 may just be her shining moment, as far as her interior layout is concerned. For anyone familiar with sailboats in the 34-35 foot range, the size of the head on the 349 instantly "pops".

The current owner had all seacocks professionally replaced in May 2023 with superior hardware. The plumbing hoses and lines are all easily accessible for maintenance and viewing. There is no funky plumbing stench in this vessel by any means due to the frequently replaced "joker" valve and constant detailed cleaning.

Navigation/Electronics

  • B&G Triton T41 display at the stbd helm (depth/wind/speed)
  • B&G Triton  Pilot controller at the stbd helm
  • B&G Zeus3S 7" plotter/GPS at the port helm (New 2023)
  • B&G/Simrad RS25 VHF at the Nav Station
  • Airmar DST810 Transducer (New 2023)
  • 2x Plastimo compass at each helm

Sails & Rigging

Sails/Rigging

The standard dacron mainsail/stack pack and jib are currently on Lokura and the performance/racing sails are currently in A/C storage and include...

  • North Sails Fractional code 0
  • Doyle A3 Asymmetrical Spinnaker
  • Doyle Performance Carbon Main w/5 full battens and 2 reef points
  • Doyle Performance Carbon 110% Genoa w/vertical battens
  • North Sails Asym Spin (Large/New 2023)

The lines all lead aft and controlled by 2 x Harken 35 winches in the coach roof for the halyards and 2 x Harken 35 winches aft for the sheets.  The mainsheet is a "German" sheeting system where trim is made at both helms.

All running rigging is in good to excellent condition.

The determined current owner installed a smartly done "tweaker" system to adjust the position of the genoa/jib clew with high end hardware (PXR 8-10mm Alloy) and dyneema rigging.

An adjustable Selden Bowsprit w/dyneema bob stay is added for the light air headsails.

The adjustable whisker pole allows for optimal off-wind sailing and shouldn't be underestimated as an essential piece of equipment.

Cockpit & Deck

The cockpit is comfortable with a walk thru transom/swim platform. The dual helms open up the access and provide windward steering.

The centerline cockpit table has proven to be a functional luxury and can be removed for more intense racing.

A new (2023) bimini top includes removable pins for easy and quick removal. The bimini-top on this particular 349 is exceptionally large, yet does not annoyingly hinder access or viewing to the sail plan. This bimini-top is the luxury icon of the exterior.
