With the benefit of a significant refit in 2021, and having been brought up to class, her commercially certified helipad – with a registered capacity of 4.8 tonnes – the addition of stern thrusters and her much larger lounge area, which features a bar for guests, enlarged windows, and high ceilings, sets her apart from the rest.
Perfectly at home in off-the-beaten-track areas such as Antarctica or Svalbard, Nansen facilitates the ultimate adventures – either as a superbly-equipped support vessel (the yacht carries large amounts of fuel to be able to refuel helicopters or indeed a mothership) or as a standalone expedition vessel. As a commercially compliant vessel, Nansen Explorer’s interior spaces are very well suited to luxury charter and a large part of what gives the yacht her potent charter potential.
Meanwhile the adventure hangar is an Aladdin’s cave of equipment for any type of expedition or adventure - housing SUPs, kayaks, as well as skiing, diving, mountaineering and polar survival gear.

The seven staterooms are similarly chic in style, offering peace and privacy. The principal cabin has a lounge and office area and all cabins are ensuite, with very spacious bathrooms. During the 2021/22 refit, the windows were opened up to afford guests spectacular views from the comfort of their cabins.
The crew are accommodated in 18 cabins, 13 of which are single occupancy, including one medic’s cabin/hospital.
